| Summary: Implementation of IEEE 802.1ab | |
This package provides the shared library for lldpd. LLDP is an industry standard protocol designed to supplant proprietary Link-Layer protocols such as Extreme EDP (Extreme Discovery Protocol) and CDP (Cisco Discovery Protocol). The goal of LLDP is to provide an inter-vendor compatible mechanism to deliver Link-Layer notifications to adjacent network devices.

* Sun Oct 25 2026 Martin Pluskal <mpluskal@suse.com>
- Update to version 1.0.23:
* Add "reset" command to restore the startup configuration
without restarting lldpd.
* Escape control characters when output is a terminal.
* Fix out-of-bound reads: long interface description "was"
marker, LLDP-MED location and chassis/port-ID address
display in liblldpctl.
* Send a shutdown LLDPDU when a port stops transmitting.
* Fix Tx fast start on local change, bond double-free and
a SIGCHLD race during shutdown.
- Source0 moved to the upstream GitHub release asset: the
upstream host media.luffy.cx is DNS-dead. GPG verification
is suspended (no .asc published): dropped Source2/Source3
and lldpd.keyring; restore once signed artifacts return.
* lldpd-1.0.22.tar.gz lldpd-1.0.22.tar.gz.asc lldpd.keyring
- This release is not affected by CVE-2023-41910 (boo#1215067),
fixed in 1.0.17; CVE-2021-43612 was credited in 1.0.13.
- Spec cleanup: drop Group tags, pwdutils pre-require is now
shadow.
* Mon Jun 15 2026 Martin Hauke <mardnh@gmx.de>
- Add libcap-devel to BuildRequires to build with support for
libpcap. This will allow the monitor process to drop its
privileges instead of running as root, improving security.
* Fri May 15 2026 Martin Hauke <mardnh@gmx.de>
- Update to version 1.0.22
* Fix CVE-2026-46433, out-of-bound read access when removing
VLAN tag (#787).
* Reject 0-length management address in LLDP.
* Fix race condition when creating the control socket.
* Fix FDP MAC address.
* Fix memory leak in the BSD bridge query path.
* Fix duplicate management addresses when merging EDP VLAN
frames.
* Sat Mar 14 2026 Martin Hauke <mardnh@gmx.de>
- Update to version 1.0.21
Changes:

populate port description.
Fix:

* Fix arbitrary file deletion in the privileged process.
* Fix accuracy of Dot3 MAU types advertised and add support for
200G and 400G.
* Fix detection of wireless interfaces.
* Sat Sep 13 2025 Martin Hauke <mardnh@gmx.de>
- Update to version 1.0.20

* Make VLAN advertisements configurable.
Fix:
* Do not break zero-copy traffic on Linux.
* Fix crash on rapid addition/removal of interfaces.
* Fix management address selection when pattern is a negative
