| Summary: Network Performance Meter (plotting program) | |
NetPerfMeter is a network performance meter for the UDP, TCP, MPTCP, SCTP and DCCP transport protocols over IPv4 and IPv6. It simultaneously transmits bidirectional flows to an endpoint and measures the resulting flow bandwidths and QoS. The results are written as vector and scalar files. The vector files can e.g. be used to create plots of the results. This package contains a plotting program for the results.

restriction for PDF metadata.
* Mon Jun 22 2026 Martin Hauke <mardnh@gmx.de>
- Update to version 2.0.6
* Changed pdftocairo to mutool, due to bugs in Fedora.
* Code clean-up.
* Sun Jun 21 2026 Martin Hauke <mardnh@gmx.de>
- Update to version 2.0.5
* Fixed includes.
* Manpage update.
* Minor clean-up.
* Added option to configure the separator.
* Improved shell completions.
* Improved vector counting.
* Options handling improvements.
* Using C++ memory allocation, instead of malloc() and calloc().
* CreateSummary: improved options handling and updated manpage.
* Further improvements of runtimeestimator.
* Improved byteswap handling.
* Fixed missing exit() call after usage message.
* Added strict compiler options.
* Set pipefail option in scripts.
* Added new QUIC client and server handshake functions, to
properly handle custom TLS root CA.
* Fixed controllocal option handling.
* Improved scripts and manpage.
* Using ggplot2 for plotting.
* Also using only TAB as separator in per-flow vector output.
* Now consistency using TAB as separator in vector output; no
more mix of space, spaces and TAB.
* Line number handling fix for CombineSummaries.
* Improved plotting script.
* Improved Wireshark configuration example.
* Some improvements, including option to turn off line numbering.
* Flow handling fix.
* MPTCP socket initialisation fix.
* Merge branch 'dreibh/tcp-graceful-shutdown'
* SCTP socket only needs to be closed when it has been created.
* Added Wireshark "Decode As" configuration.

Endian.
* Added QUIC parameter configuration handling.
* Added QUIC socket to passive side.
* Added option parsing for QUIC.

* Fixed control socket initialisation, to properly handle TCP or
MPTCP.
* Improved PDF fonts embedder script.
* Further clean-ups to remove obsolete MPTCP options code used
for MPTCP development version.

* Bugfix release
* Sat Jul 17 2021 Martin Hauke <mardnh@gmx.de>
- Update to version 1.9.0
Use different payload data patterns for Active -> Passive and Passive -> Active directions.
Added note on SCTP usage with 192.168.122.1 interface.
Added test script for Wireshark dissector tests.
Enable 30s SCTP Heartbeats on control connection, to ensure PAT/NAT will keep the connection alive.
Updated Wireshark color filter example.
Bugfix: Make sure to deregister all flows belonging to a closed control connection.
Improved DCCP detection.
Commented out LK-SCTP bug work-around. It is hopefully not needed any more.
Bugfix: fixed possibilities for race conditions reported by Helgrind.
Bugfix: fixed UDP flow identification.
Improved vector output.
Bugfix: fixed improper deletion. Access to deallocated memory was possible.
Bugfix: make sure to clear address space (Valgrind reported access to uninitialised memory).
Bugfix: fixed handling of new flows on active side (variable was uninitialised).
Also write time stamps into scalars.
