| Summary: OpenAMP communication APIs | |
The OpenAMP framework provides software components that enable development of software applications for Asymmetric Multiprocessing (AMP) systems. The framework provides the following key capabilities. 1. Provides Life Cycle Management, and Inter Processor Communication capabilities for management of remote compute resources and their associated software contexts. 2. Provides a stand alone library usable with RTOS and Baremetal software environments 3. Compatibility with upstream Linux remoteproc and rpmsg components 4. Following AMP configurations supported a. Linux master/Generic(Baremetal) remote b. Generic(Baremetal) master/Linux remote 5. Proxy infrastructure and supplied demos showcase ability of proxy on master to handle printf, scanf, open, close, read, write calls from Bare metal based remote contexts.

* Sat Oct 24 2026 Martin Pluskal <mpluskal@suse.com>
- Update to version 2026.04.0:
* Library is now versioned 1.10.0, soname moved from 0 to 1
* Reworked cache handling with new WITH_DCACHE option
* Added virtio MMIO native transport layer support
* Reintroduced zero-copy transmit and receive for RPMsg
* Added TX buffer wait and endpoint-release callbacks
* Added virtqueue RX-empty-notify and message buffer size APIs
* Removed long-deprecated cmake options and APIs
* CMake minimum raised to 3.16
* Many bug fixes and maturity improvements
- Rename shared library package libopen_amp0 -> libopen_amp1
following the upstream soname bump
- Drop examples subpackage: upstream removed the sample
applications in 2025.04.0 (moved to openamp-system-reference)
- Drop obsolete patches, code was reworked upstream:
* openamp-fix-build-with-libmetal.patch (apps tree is gone)
* openamp-wait-when-no-more-buffer-avail.patch (TX buffer
wait logic was reworked upstream with wait callbacks)
- Spec cleanup: use ldconfig_scriptlets macro, drop unused
doxygen and graphviz BuildRequires, declare gcc and make
explicitly (libhugetlbfs-devel and sysfsutils-devel are kept:
libmetal's installed headers include them)
* Mon Feb 26 2024 Dominique Leuenberger <dimstar@opensuse.org>
- Use %autosetup macro. Allows to eliminate the usage of deprecated
PatchN.
* Wed Feb 26 2020 Tomáš Chvátal <tchvatal@suse.com>
- Switch to %cmake_build macro as %make_jobs is ambiguous and leads
to trouble
* Tue Feb 25 2020 pgajdos@suse.com
- version update to 2020.01
* Added virtio feature negotiation.
* update IRQ registration in apps
* bug fixes
