Changelog

* Fri Oct 23 2026 Paolo Stivanin <info@paolostivanin.com>
  - Update to 0.13.0 (upstream tag v0.13.0, 2026-10-23):
    * 0.13.0: recover existing macOS PDF associations (no Linux
      change).
    * Forms: Prepare a form gains Calculation order and Text field
      table pages; renaming a field updates the calculations reading
      it; tooltips on hover; arrow keys nudge the selected field.
    * Editing: Edit and Format text panels relaid out, one editing
      session per paragraph; rotate images by any angle; Header &
      Footer in Times or Courier; Ctrl+V pastes a picture; fills and
      border widths for text boxes and callouts.
    * Viewer: optional gapless continuous display; full screen shows
      one fitted page at a time; thumbnail size controls; Layers
      panel reset; Print keeps the printer and paper size.
    * Organize: reverse page order, Ctrl-drag copies pages, custom
      document properties; Save As writes a clean copy, saves keep
      file permissions and creation date.
    * Rendering (patched hayro crates): /DefaultGray/RGB/CMYK,
      knockout groups, stencil masks, JP2 palettes, mesh seams,
      clip-only text extraction, Japanese CID spacing; hayro-cmap is
      now vendored and patched for tolerant CMap parsing.
    * New interface languages: Albanian, Catalan, Central Kurdish,
      Finnish, Hindi, Indonesian, Korean, Lao, Norwegian Bokmal,
      Romanian, Thai; Czech, French, Portuguese (BR), Polish and
      Spanish catalogs completed.
    * Security hardening (no CVE ids): encryption and signature
      validation gaps closed, copy/print/removal limits enforced,
      redaction removes hidden content completely or refuses, parser
      and export work bounded, CSV formulas neutralised, recovery
      folder owner-only on Unix; rustls-webpki 0.103.16
      (RUSTSEC-2026-0382).
    * Many redaction, XFA, FormCalc, text-extraction and save fixes;
      date handling now goes through chrono.
    * Re-vendored (update=false kept for --locked): in the shipped
      graph only rustls-webpki 0.103.15 -> 0.103.16 (ISC) changed and
      hayro-cmap 0.1.0 moved from crates.io to upstream's patched
      vendor/ copy (Apache-2.0 OR MIT, same BSD-3-Clause Adobe CMap
      blob); new plist and quick-xml 0.42 (MIT) are macOS-only,
      webpki-root-certs 1.0.10 is not linked on Linux. License tag
      unchanged, MSRV still 1.95, no new system deps; cargo_vendor:
      "All lockfiles are audited", no RUSTSEC advisories.
  - Rebase pdfcraft-no-brand-assets.patch onto 0.13.0 (hunk moved 10
    lines, same three docs/brand include_bytes! embeds; the 0.13.0
    tree has no new docs/brand references).
  - Ship the licence texts of the assets the vendored hayro crates
    embed (Foxit fonts, CGATS ICC profile, Adobe CMaps) under
    pdf-backend/; list hayro-cmap and vello_common in the
    Legal-Review-Notice.
* Sun Oct 18 2026 Martin Pluskal <mpluskal@suse.com>
  - Update to 0.9.0 (upstream tag v0.9.0, 2026-10-18):
    * Rendering: Poppler render oracle with pixel test on; JBIG2
      conformance fixtures; page-transform precision; Indexed samples
      clamped to the palette range.
    * Printing and redaction: off layers stay off; repeated redaction
      overlays reused; undo keeps the last saved revision.
    * UI: drag files onto the Pages panel to insert; text selection
      drag-scrolls and extends by word/line; dragged images follow the
      frame; page labels and navigation stay consistent.
    * pdfcraft-no-brand-assets.patch refreshed for the moved widgets.rs
      (same three trademark embeds, new line numbers). Re-vendored
      (update=false kept for --locked; respect-lockfile true); license
      re-derived over shipped targets, no new copyleft (new crates all
      MIT/Apache), tag stands; no new system deps.
* Thu Oct 15 2026 Martin Pluskal <mpluskal@suse.com>

    prerelease=false)
  - Render: exact standard-14 metrics, Lab Bradford fix, Type 3 modes,
    retire inherited resources; keep neighbouring line on replace

  - UI: large PDFs off thread, drag-follows-pointer, wheel during select,
    closed panel stays closed, shortcut handling, XFDF empty values
  - Security hardening (no CVE ids): three audit findings in redaction
    and signature validation, overflow-safe coordinates and rotations
  - pdfcraft-no-brand-assets.patch still applies and is still needed
    (upstream still embeds docs/brand/ marks); re-vendored
    (update=false kept for in-tree vendor/, craft-print rev bump);
    License tag unchanged; rust >= 1.95; OCR models still not shipped
    (OCR reports NoModels)

    permissions-password unlock, honour copy permission
  - Wayland GPU selection + server DPI, StartupWMClass, scroll-speed
    preference, theme picker, Turkish/Greek/Kazakh/Czech locales

    needed (upstream still embeds docs/brand/ marks); re-vendored

    Apache-2.0 vendored, update=false kept for in-tree vendor/);

    (OCR reports NoModels)

  - Update to 0.6.0 (stable tag v0.6.0, 2026-10-11, draft=false
    prerelease=false)
  - Fill & Sign: drawn signatures and drawings resize from their handles;
    Add text keeps typed text on click-away; Select picks up signatures
    placed over form fields
  - Combine files: thumbnail grid, expand a file into its pages, move and
    remove single pages before combining
  - Edit: column select (Alt-drag), fill colour for shape comments, pale
    text edited on a dark box; exports keep image transparency
  - Open R2-R4 encrypted files with non-ASCII passwords; harden render and
    JS surfaces (nesting caps, bounded lookups)
  - Interface-size preference (Auto follows GNOME scaling), Polish
    translation, localized shortcut names

    needed (upstream still embeds docs/brand/ marks); re-vendored

    option); OCR models still not shipped (OCR reports NoModels)

    egui-wgpu) + cargo_audit; tarball excludes docs/brand/ trademarks
