Changelog

* Wed Nov 12 2025 Dirk Müller <dmueller@suse.com>
  - update to 4.6.5:
    * This release of ser2net improves the failure detection used
      for timeouts. It now looks into the transmit queue if
      possible and sees if the remote end is accepting data instead
      of just looking at when it sends data. In conjunction with
      the drain_timeout changes in version 2.8.15 of gensio, this
      means you don't have to rely on the TCP timers, which can be
      very long (like 15 minutes in some situations).
  - update to 4.6.4:
    * This release fixes a rather embarrassing bug; sending breaks
      didn't work right in some circumstances. This happened
      because I had no way to receive breaks and know if they
      happened. I have added receiving breaks in the gensio
      library, version 2.8.12, and have added tests to make sure
      that breaks are actually working.
    * As part of this, you can now also receive breaks and parity
      errors through the the linestate interface on telnet rfc2217.
    * You should upgrade, and upgrade gensio, too. This should
      compile and work against old version of gensio, but the tests
      (well, the new break related ones) will not work.
  - update to 4.6.3:
    * Fixes a bug affecting connect back UDP when losing network
      connectivity.
* Thu Apr 25 2024 Martin Hauke <mardnh@gmx.de>
  - Update to version 4.6.2
    * Add initial EditorConfig support
    * README.rst: fix typos
    * Return 0 for the -v option
    * Fix showport and showshortport state reporting
* Sat Mar 16 2024 Dirk Müller <dmueller@suse.com>
  - update to 4.6.1:
    * Update iss file version
    * Fix the -C option definition
    * Fix the -C description in the help code
    * Fix problem with rfc2217 flush handling
    * Add support for the updated gensio modemstate/linestate
    * handling
* Fri Nov 24 2023 Martin Hauke <mardnh@gmx.de>
  - Update to version 4.6.0
    * https://github.com/cminyard/ser2net/compare/v4.5.0...v4.6.0
* Tue Aug 29 2023 Martin Hauke <mardnh@gmx.de>
  - Update to version 4.5.0
    Changes since 4.3.11:
    * Has some license template updates and spelling fixes.
    * Adds the ability for admin connections to be advertised
      through MDNS.
    * A systemd unit file example is added.
    * The setgroup() function for ptys and stdio was not being
      called if running the child under a new user and the new user
      had no groups.
    * A random time was added to the certauth challenge response.
    * A timer was added to ssl and certauth.
    * Adds the ability for gensios to report errors as they parse the
      gensio string.
* Thu Dec 29 2022 Dominique Leuenberger <dimstar@opensuse.org>
  - Update to version 4.3.11:
    + Shut off write ready on a network write error.
    + Shut down device write on a device error.
  - Changes from version 4.3.10:
    + Retry port startup on gensio allocation failure.
  - Changes from version 4.3.9:
    + Add link to libgensioosh.
  - Changes from version 4.3.8:
    + Update ser2net.yaml.5.
    + Add libgensiomdns if the mdns code is not in libgensio.

* Sun Jan 23 2022 Martin Hauke <mardnh@gmx.de>
  - ser2net 4.3.5:
    * Yet another quick release. gcc-11 and the new sctp library
      threw some curve balls, so those needed to be handled.
      No functional changes, just compile and bug fixes related to
      the new compiler and library.
* Sat Dec 11 2021 Andreas Stieger <andreas.stieger@gmx.de>
  - ser2net 4.3.4:
    * fix a few minor annoyances
  - switch up upstream bootstrapped tarball
* Tue Nov 16 2021 Johannes Segitz <jsegitz@suse.com>
  - Added hardening to systemd service(s) (bsc#1181400). Modified:
    * ser2net.service
* Sat Feb 06 2021 Martin Hauke <mardnh@gmx.de>
  - Update to version 4.3.3
    * Some minor bug fixes, including a long standing issue with UDP
      that I finally tracked down. Nothing major, but upgrading is
      recommended.
  - Update to version 4.3.1
    * Lots of little cleanups and bug fixes.
